Summary of qualifications
What an amazing experience booked through costcotravel.com our first time to Cabo loved all of the restaurants, staff and service very friendly the menu in all of the restaurants excellent, room condition and cleanliness really good and to top it off the hotel has a fun night club called Black Lemon, the lobby bar is a great place to hang out with great staff very friendly very good variety of restaurants, can't wait to come come and try their other properties in Cancun etc.
"Best bar tenders ever!"
We had an amazing time here everything was great! Wanted to send a special shout out to Emilio and Daniel at the Bikini bar...Best bar tenders ever! We have been to a few resorts including the Live Aqua in Cancun and Emilio and Daniel have been our favorite bar tenders, make sure to visit them at the Bikini bar!
My wife and I just returned from here and had a wonderful 5 days. The property is breathtaking. The food is marvelous. And the service was top notch. We were on the inclusive program which I would recommend and ate at most of the restaurants in the hotel. The one restaurant we loved the most was called the Blu. It is tucked away in one of the many levels of the property and the food and dessert was 5 star all the way. If you're a breakfast eater you'll love the buffet breakfast every morning. Starbucks was included also in the inclusive! The only negative we found was the beach. While it is beautiful and easy to watch the many whales from the sand is very soft and hard to walk on. We would definitely go back!
We bought our vacation package via Costco Travel that includes room, all-inclusive package, flight, and hotel-airport transfer.
When booking I asked for a 1 king bed room since we have a 13 month old and noted that we are celebrating our 3 year wedding anniversary.
Now.. if you're expecting all those nice rice and towel art on your bed welcoming you and desserts being plated with chocolate writings (like you see in some photos).. DON'T. Those are only for ones who spend a LOT of money (or own a timeshare). Which was really weird because everytime we walked into the "nice" restaurants the host always asked us if we're celebrating any special occasion.
Anyway~ Jonathan was the one who helped us check in when we arrived. He was very pleasant to deal with although he gave us a room on the other end of the property where there was serious construction going on with cement dust and jackhammers going all day. So we had to go back to get another room and another guy helped us. He gave us a room where we had to walk down 4 flights of stairs with a stroller and room keys that didn't work.. no elevator in this building. This property is not completely stroller friendly so keep that in mind if you're planning a vacation with your baby and they don't really do much to make your life easier.
Our room had an ocean view with a small balcony that can barely fit a chair so there was really no use for that.
We tried all the restaurants on the property and only a few were average at best.
Fresh made tableside guacamole and chocolate tamale dessert was delicious at the Mexican restaurant.
Lobster and filet was good at BLU (hidden and empty.. not included in the property map they provide)
Sushi sky bar was really sad.
Cevicheria and the Grill were meh...
Breakfast buffet at Peninsula was good.. nice view and good omelet station (try the green sauce).
Rosato had the best ambience but the food was terrible. This was also the only restaurant with a 1 hour wait (service is really slow).
Room service chilaquiles, club sandwich, caesar salad, and arrachera steak were delicious and they always came within 30 minutes.
The pools were clean and had plenty of chairs. We never had trouble getting a couple clean towels everyday. Poolside service was quick and friendly. We ordered wings to go along with our drinks and they were delicious.
The main pool (infinity pool), swim up bar, kids pool were all together. We played mostly in the members only pool (also infinity) which was a little more empty and quiet.
WI-FI was VERY spotty throughout the whole property which was fine by me because we came here to relax and that's exactly what we did.. eat, swim, sleep, repeat lol
Starbucks coffee is not included in the all-inclusive package which was fine since the coffee they served was good enough. Just ask for a togo cup with ice and make an iced coffee. :)
Souvenir shop had lots of goodies but you'll find the same things for less at the airport.
We used their golf cart service a few times to go to the lobby (and walked the rest for exercise hehe) which was nice and they always came super fast after making the call from your room.
Note: When we stayed at an all-inclusive resort in the Bahamas, we didn't feel any pressure to tip for every little thing but here.. every single interaction was awkward and seemed too obvious they all were expecting tip.
When coming back to Mexico, we would not stay here again.
Stayed in March and we had a blast. Just perfect. Service from everyone was first class.
See Ruben at the main lobby bar for some local color, look for the whales, and enjoy great some great refreshments! Thanks to all the staff who worked so hard to make our stay so memorable. The pools, shady umbrellas, beach and view is great but the friendly and HARD WORKING staff really are the secret sauce to this place.
