"nice room..."
The Hotel had a very nice comfortable room...plenty of space, the bed was big and comfortable, the only problem we found with the room was the safe, it did not work. food buffet was very nice. If you wanted ice you needed to go to a certain floor, but if you were not staying on that floor you could not get of on that floor, we ended going to the lobby to get ice. The people were very nice. We did notice that they had set out some candies and waters all over the room and bathroom including a mini fridge with all kinds of drinks. We did not use any of that. At the time of check out they told us we had drank some coffee, which we did not, and we signed a form that said we did not have anything so they would not charge us anything else. Most Hotels we stayed at offer you coffee in the room as a complementary thing in the USA, well i guess its not like that every where, we learned something.
"Great hotel near Bosque el Chapultepec"
We booked the hotel through our airline which offered a great package deal and we spent 7 days at the hotel while visiting the sites of Mexico City and the outlying areas. Being one of the low cost package choices we weren't sure what to expect. The rooms were very modern and clean (and we had a view from the 9th floor of Chapultepec and the Caste and some spectacular sunsets over the mountains) and the public areas, including the restaurant, were great. There is a wonderful exercise room, with modern, clean equipment, and spa on the top floors. The staff was incredibly helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had a pleasant and trouble free stay. I must add that while most of the staff spoke much better English than we did Spanish, there were a few times when we simply couldn't communicate as well as we wanted. That being said, we had a problem with a lost ATM card at a nearby back and Juan, one of the concierges, went with us to the bank and helped us recover it. He really went above and beyond. The hotel restaurant is good with some outstanding fish and Oxacan style mole negro dishes. In addition to being across the street from Chapultepec Park, the hotel is only a 5 minute walk from El Paseo de la Reforma and there are excellent restaurants in easy walking distance (our favorite was El Fogancito on Leibnitz 54, three blocks from the hotel.
"OK but don’t leave any belongings there "
Location is good, room could have been a bit more ample, good toiletries as a gold Expedia member I was given free breakfast for 1 pax. My only complain is I left an article in the room and apparently the maid didn’t see it, so take good care of your belongings.
"Fabulous Stay"
What an amazing staff, restaurant, social gathering, clean facility, wonderful concierge and overall fabulous stay. We were late due to our flight being cancelled. The staff was very accommodating and worked with us as we talked to them about our delay. The check in staff was friendly and made sure that we were well taken care of. The concierge gave us great advice on things to see and the routes we should take to make sure we arrived safely. The restaurant staff was amazing, always making sure we had what we needed, they were friendly, made great recommendations, and always smiling and welcoming. The food was fabulous from the breakfast buffet to the wonderful dinner that gave choices from two different menus. One was Mexican Cuisine the other Continental. Many choices, and all were delicious! Our flight was delayed to return, and the hotel staff made sure we were able to stay in our room until 4 pm which was a great courtesy and so thankful they were able to do that for us. Everyone always asked if we needed anything. Help and wonderful staff. The Grand Fiesta Americana Chapultepec in Mexico City will always be our choice for future trips!
