On November 2, called u hanal pixanoob or pixán mass, it is intended for the faithful deceased and prayers are held for the souls in the local cemetery. In the Mayan language, hanal pixán means “food of the souls.” It is the tradition of this town to remember in a very special way the family and friends who passed away from this world.
